Jurgen Klopp saw the need to loan him out for the 2020/21 campaign, however, in order to give him more regular playing time.
That looks to be an inspired decision from the Liverpool manager, with Elliott joining Blackburn back in October and flourishing at Ewood Park, scoring six goals and registering 11 assists in the Championship.
On Friday night, the forward scored the winning goal as Blackburn won 2-1 at home to Derby County, before taking off his shirt to reveal a message to the 96 Liverpool supporters who lost their lives at Hillsborough back in 1989 – You’ll Never Walk Alone.
