da fazobetai: Arsenal legend Ian Wright has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has lost focus.
da winzada777: The England international has struggled for form of late, which has led to many questions over the 21-year-old’s overall quality.
Alli went from playing League One football to being a Premier League regular and an established England international in the space of two years.
According to a report in the Daily Mail last month, the former MK Dons player has held talks with supremo agent Jorge Mendes, who takes care of some of football’s elite, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho.
Wright believes that Alli’s discussions with the Portuguese agent indicate that he is looking for a big-money move elsewhere rather than a new deal at Tottenham.
The pundit, though, thinks that the midfielder will fail to progress if he does not knuckle down and re-focus.
Alli attracted criticism over the weekend when he caught Kevin De Bruyne’s ankle in a reckless challenge during Spurs’ 4-1 defeat to Manchester City.
Throughout the game, the youngster made very little impact in Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
While speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Wright said:
“It is a very very important time for Dele. He has got to be focusing on football even when he is not playing football to get himself back to the level he was at.
“The other day he was like a shadow of what we know he can do. When you start getting agents like Jorge Mendes you are not getting those agent to renegotiate contracts.
“You are getting those agents to move you somewhere, move you big, so he has got to be playing at a consistent level [to show] why he would go get an agent like that.”
