da wazamba: According to a recent report from The Daily Express, Tottenham are lining up a January move for Bradley Dack. The 24-year-old currently plays his football at Championship side Blackburn Rovers having made the move from Gillingham back in 2017, and he has certainly produced the goods at Ewood Park in the last 12 months are so.
da blaze casino: And reports suggest that Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs, who signed no one during the summer window, are keen on the midfielder, and while it may not be a move that hugely excites Tottenham fans, it’s one that could turn out to be a masterstroke given the influence of Pochettino himself.
The Breakdown
Ultimately, very few Spurs fans would have been jumping at the thought of signing Dele Alli back in January 2015, what with the Englishman having never played in the Championship let alone the Premier League prior to his move to the North London club from MK Dons.
Yet he has since become a vital player for both club and country to suggest that there are some gems in the lower leagues, and with a goal-scoring record like Dack’s, the 24-year-old could well be another one.
The midfielder scored 18 times in 42 League One appearances last season to help Tony Mowbray’s side win promotion back to the second tier, thus earning him a place in the PFA Team of the Year, and he has gone from strength to strength in the early stages of this term to help Rovers to make a solid start to the new Championship campaign.
The 24-year-old has bagged six goals in just nine league games and has three others in the Carabao Cup to underline his credentials in becoming one of the most in-form players outside of the Premier League – and under the guidance of Pochettino, the Englishman will surely improve further.
The Argentine has a proven track-record of developing and improving players throughout his time at Tottenham and indeed Southampton, not least young English players such as Alli, Eric Dier, Harry Kane, and Harry Winks, as well as Luke Shaw during his time on the South Coast.
And with the 46-year-old one of the most highly-rated coaches in English football at present, Dack is only likely to improve further under the stewardship of the Argentine – he could follow in the footsteps of Alli by making the step up.
Thus, it may not be the most exciting of signings on the surface, but luring Dack to Spurs would be a very similar addition to that of Alli’s little over three-and-a-half years ago – and look at how that turned out, no small part down to the influence of Pochettino.
And with the Argentine continuing to prove to be an outstanding coach and overall improver of players, adding the £4.5 million-rated ace (as per Transfermarkt) could well turn out to be a Tottenham masterstroke.
